Feb 2024 Hockey Schedule - IMPORTANT INFO
The end of hockey season 2023-2024 is upon us. Here is the schedule and plan for the remainder of the month
Feb 5- PRACTICE 4:30-5:30 teams MAROON and BLACK
Feb 7- PRACTICE 4:30-5:30 teams BLUE, TEAL, and YELLOW
Feb 9- 4:45pm-5:45pm GAME - Team MAROON verse team TEAL (this will complete regular league play as each team will have played 10 interleague games)
Feb 10-11 - STETTLER STORM U9 Home tournament (REMINDER - select your volunteer spots by Feb 4th at Midnight)

After the tournament, it ends regular season, but we have secured more ice time. Going forward we will be separating 2015 players and 2016 players. These times are to prep the U9's (specifically the 2nd years) to bridge the gap between U9 1/2 ice and U11 full ice. Hockey Alberta released a new pilot project this year that we are implementing.
There is a very strict rule (coming from the executive board) that ONLY 2015 players will be at the 2015 practices and ONLY 2016 players will be at 2016 practices. I know for some families this means more nights of hockey as it divides your kids, sorry we won't make any exceptions.

Feb 12 - 4:30-5:30 PRACTICE 2015 born players only - FULL Ice Drills/ learning
Feb 14- 4:30-5:30 PRACTICE 2016 born players only
Feb 16- 6:30-7:30 1/2 ICE GAMES 2016 players verse each other, 2015 players verse each other (Joel and coaches will separate kids into equal teams. We will re hand out jerseys for this game )
Feb 17 - 8:15-9:15 am - PRACTICE for 2015 Players only - FULL Ice Drills/ learning
Feb 17 - 9:15am - 10:15 am PRACTICE for 2016 Players only. This will be the final ice time for 2016 players. Mangers and I will discuss a potential wind up after this practice for all players 2015/2016. TBD.
Feb 24- 8:15am - 9:15 am 2015 players only - FULL ICE GAME. Again Joel and Coaches will make two equal teams. We will re hand out jersey for this game
Mar 2 - 8:15 am - 9:15 am 2015 players only - FULL ICE GAME. This will be the final ice time for 2015 players.

I'm excited for our home tournament weekend and THANK YOU all for your help in volunteering. I will be in contact with any families who have NOT completed their volunteer hours. SMHA is hosting U18a provincials, where there will be an opportunity to complete volunteer hours AND these hours can go towards next year.
