Are you interested in becoming a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Manager for the 2025/26 hockey season? Apply now by completing the following forms. Both roles are crucial to providing a great hockey season for our players - thank you for your interest!

Note: U11-U18 Evaluations will begin the week of September 15. To be considered for coach positions, applications must be received prior to Friday, September 12.

• Please ensure you have completed your Respect in Sport - Activity Leader Course as soon as possible. This is required for all bench and on ice staff. No one can go on the ice until completed. If you have completed the course in a prior season, please confirm it is still valid. Certification expires every 4 years. (This is NOT a requirement for Managers.)
• Check out Hockey Alberta’s site for coaching requirements at all levels and access to clinic sign ups. Registration is open for the following clinics in Red Deer:
  • Coach 1: Oct 6 or Oct 28
  • Coach 2: Sept 22 or Oct 14
  • Intro to Checking: Sept 29 or Oct 27
• SMHA will re-imburse coaches for successful clinic completion/certification.
• Vulnerable Sector / Criminal Record Checks are required every three years.
• Coach and Manager positions fulfill family volunteer hour requirements for the season.
