Coach and Manager Apps Close Today
Interested in becoming a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Manager for the 2026/27 hockey season? Apply below!
To be considered for coach positions, applications must be received by end of day today, Friday, September 11.
- Please ensure you complete The Shift Forward - Coach course as soon as possible (OR Respect in Sport - Activity Leader from within the past 4 years is also valid). This is a requirement for all bench and on ice staff. No one can go on the ice until completed. (This is NOT a requirement for Managers.)
- Check out Hockey Alberta’s site for coaching requirements at all levels and access to clinic sign ups. Registration is open for the following clinics in Red Deer:
- Coach 1: Oct 13, Oct 26 or Nov 9
- Coach 2: Sept 28, Oct 19 or Nov 2
- Intro to Checking: Sept 21, Oct 5 or Nov 3
- SMHA will re-imburse coaches for successful clinic completion/certification.
- Vulnerable Sector / Criminal Record Checks are required every three seasons.
- Coach and Manager positions fulfill family volunteer hour requirements for the season.
