For players who have never been registered in a Hockey Canada sanctioned program before - welcome to Stettler Minor Hockey! The registration flow will look like this:
If you have valid Respect in Sport or The Shift Forward certification (and perhaps are registering a first-time playing sibling), you will need to link your new player to your existing account:
If player cannot be found, double-check spelling of their legal name and date of birth or try searching using their HCR number. If they still do not appear, contact registrar@stettlerminorhockey.com for assistance.
Hockey Canada Registry Number (HCR # / ID)
Hockey Canada issues an ID number to each player registered to a Minor Hockey Association regulated by Hockey Alberta & Hockey Canada. This number is unique to each player and will remain the same for all future minor hockey registrations in Canada.
Any families or participants who have previously registered with a Hockey Canada sanctioned program and are looking for their HCR number can log in to their Spordle Account (or create one if necessary) to view their profile and obtain their number.
The Shift Forward - Parent/Guardian
Hockey Canada has introduced a new mandatory program called The Shift Forward, which is replacing Respect in Sport for both Parents/Guardians and Activity Leaders. Modules within the program cover themes of hockey culture, being an active bystander, how to have crucial conversations, autonomy, individual rights, grooming and consent. At least one parent/guardian must have valid The Shift Forward or Respect in Sport certification before they can register their child.
